What to ask before choosing a dental clinic in Thailand

The five questions that separate a tourist-grade clinic from an international-standard one.

Ask which dentist will actually be performing your treatment. Busy clinics sometimes rotate cases to associates — that’s fine, but you should know up front.

Ask for a written treatment plan with line-itemised pricing before you fly. If a clinic can’t produce that in 48 hours, it’s a signal.

Ask what happens if follow-up is needed after you’ve returned home. International clinics have clear answers: teleconsults, coordination with your local dentist, or guaranteed flexibility on follow-up visits.

Ask about sterilisation and materials certifications. Clinics that handle international patients will share this without hesitation.

Ask for at least two patient references for the treatment type you’re considering. Good clinics keep a rotating list of patients happy to speak to prospective cases.
